Waka Nusa

Many, many years ago, Bali was attached to Java, Sumatra and Malaysia, and Lembongan Island was attached to Lombok, Flores, Timor and Australia. During the 19th century, a British Scientist, Wallace stated/discovered that the Indonesian Archipelago could be divided by an imaginary line which later became known as the ”Wallace Line” in our encyclopedias.

According to his extensive survey, all land to the West of this line belonged to the Asiatic continent: flora, fauna, rain forest, tigers, elephant, etc…. and all land to the East belonged to the Australian continent with its specific dryer climate, bushes big lizard and marsupials. The”Wallace line” was subsequently drawn between Bali and Lembongan Island.

About Waka Nusa Activities
Sail on traditional perahu, trawl a fishing line or simply enjoy sailing in the quiet lagoon (morning or afternoon). Visit the village of Lembongan, its mother temple, the seaweed farm, where we can take you for a cup of tea or coffee in a traditional home. Picnic on a dream beach, all by yourself. Your lunch will be prepared in advance and drinks are provided with an ice box. The current can be strong so we recommend you stay close to the beach, if you swim.

Glass bottom boat and snorkeling, canoeing, boogie boarding, table tennis, French Boules, badminton, volley ball, available all day long. Push bikes are available at the office for a ride through the island. Breakfast between 7.00 AM and 9.30 AM, lunch is served at 01.00 and dinner at 07.00 PM.

Your own fantasy of a tropical island. Your own private retreat in a comfortable grass-roofed lanai, far from the trials and tribulation of the modern world. An experience you will carry in your memory for years. A romantic night on an enchanted island, sleeping under a blanket of a hundred thousand stars, lulled by the trade winds in the palm trees and the distance breaking of the surf on a coral reef.

Each lanai is set out with private garden of tropical flowers whose delicate scents color the cooling breeze and the evening air. The uncomplicated but uncompromised architecture of polished woods, natural floors and the distinctive alang-alang roof, transport you in comfort and style to another place, another time.
